Seamstress / Patterner
Rebecca has always loved fashion and art; seeing how they inspire each other sparks joy in her creative spirit. Learning to sew at eight, she grew up with respect and admiration for the fashion industry. Studying fashion design in college, Rebecca has upheld her passion for sewing. When she’s not in the studio, she loves to travel & she’s always planning her next big trip.
Studio & Scheduling Extraordinaire
As soon as you enter the studio, Sarah’s kind heart and warm personality will welcome you. She will also politely ask you to remove your shoes, studio policy (blame the red clay). Sarah has a recent Masters in History, and is the master of taking care of SYC’s front of house. In her free time she enjoys playing video games and visiting historical sites.
Seamstress
Mary is passionate about making sure each of our clients leaves with their garment in perfect condition. Learning how to sew from a young age, she brings many years of experience and excitement in this industry. Mary brings so much joy to our studio, but when she’s not here, she loves to spend time with her grandchildren and go to her weekly zumba class.
Social media, @socialspark.marketing
After being rejected by 7 other alteration studios, Lindsay walked into SYC weeks before her wedding. She almost started crying asking Ashley if adding a slit to her dress was possible. Ashley’s response, “Of course! Who told you it couldn’t be done?! (looking confused)” Lindsay runs our big picture social media and marketing. In her free time she enjoys creating her lifestyle blog Labels and Linds, traveling, and playing with her French bulldogs.
Our vision is to increase self love
for our clients through clothing.
Meet Ashley
Before landing in the world of couture design, Ashley’s 17 years of industry experience in formal fashion took her from design school at Purdue University in Indiana to exchange programs in Italy and Hong Kong, ultimately landing her in NYC where she sharpened some serious design chops in the fashion capital working under high end designers Zac Posen and Peter Som, while also working their NYC Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weeks. She then joined the licensing company Li & Fung USA, working on lines for large retailers.
In 2009, Ashley moved closer to her true passion when she was 1 of 6 designers chosen of the Chicago Fashion Incubator. This led her to launch her own women’s wear line, ZAMRIE. After years of selling her apparel throughout the Midwest and online, she realized her calling through designing custom couture dresses for friends and family. As the demand started to grow, it was obvious this was more than a side-gig.
Now living in Birmingham, Ashley is able to bring her, almost two decades, of craftsmanship and design to the women in AL, whom are not able to find exactly what they want. She can help you simply add a sleeve to your existing wedding gown, reinvent an old gala piece into something more modern, and even transform an idea in your head into a real tangible custom couture, fitting you better than you ever imagined.
